What is The Scratch Pad?

The Cougar Scratch Pad is a news site run by students of Bullitt Central High School. It was created by the editor-in-chief, Lyric Villa, who turned the side project into a full-fledged publication for students, by students. The project is not just a website, but also a community effort to unite students and provide a platform for all journalistic and creative writers.

Our Values:

Our newsroom is dedicated to representing our school and showcasing the exciting things that happen here. We are committed to producing top-quality student media by adhering to high standards of writing, editing, and production. We prioritize transparency and strive to cover all perspectives on current events. Above all, we value the opinions and feedback of our students.

Our Mission and Vision:

At The Cougar Scratchpad, we deliver dependable, genuine, and reliable news to the school community. Our goals are to inform, entertain, and educate our readers while providing a platform for the Bullitt Central community to express their attitudes and opinions. We aim to be the voice of the students, catering to their interests and perspectives.

Our Policy:

At the Scratchpad, our main goal is to provide students with unbiased and accurate information. It is important to us that our readers are able to form their own opinions based on the content we provide. To ensure that we meet this goal, we never publish issues that discriminate against any student, encourage hateful behavior, contain factually incorrect information, or deviate from our mission and vision for the newspaper.
